The Estate and Family Law Group in Memphis believe that the ultimate goal in our cases is to make your client less complicated. Settling an estate can be overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating. We take away that frustration and figure out the hard part ourselves while you take the plan to grieve your loved one.

I am a native of Memphis, Tennessee and am admitted to the Bars of Tennessee and Texas. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clark Atlanta University with my Bachelor of Arts in English. I then attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, where I received my law degree with a concentration in Transactional Tax Planning. I started my career working for Certified Public Accounting firms where I focused on estate planning for middle to high net worth families.
Since starting my own practice in 2010, I have practiced in the areas of probate, estate administration and litigation, estate planning, and elder law. I have assisted my clients with estate tax planning strategies, including but not limited to charitable trusts, family limited partnerships, and marital deduction planning. I am a Commissioner with the American Bar Association’s Commission on Law and Aging, a member of the Estate Planning and Probate section of the Memphis Bar Association and a member of the Continuing Education Committee of the Tennessee Bar Association. I continue to be involved with the American Bar Association's Elder Law Committee of the Real Property, Trusts and Estates section.
Further, I have obtained my LL.M. degree in Elder law and Estate planning from Western New England School of Law and strive to educate the public about the many resources available to them and their special needs or aging loved ones in order to have the best quality of life possible. From 2017-2022, I am humbled to have been voted as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. In 2021, I was accepted as a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel and continue to strive for excellence in my field. I am a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Elder Counsel, Wealth Counsel, and remain active with the American Bar Association.
I received my undergraduate degree in Business Management from Austin Peay State University in 1991 and received my law degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1994. While in law school, I was selected to be a member of the moot court debate team. I began my legal career as a Public Defender. Ientered private practice in 1997 as a general practitioner with the late J.C. McLin. Upon McLin being appointed as a Judge in 2000, I established my own practice. However, I continued to work with Judge McLin on community development issues which included the establishment of a non-profit organization to assist ex-felons obtain employment and regain their citizenship rights, including the right to vote. For well over 15 years my practice has focused primarily on probate matters involving estate and trust administration, conservatorships, guardianships, as well as litigation in those areas. My practice also includes estate planning, which involves the drafting of wills, trusts and other related documents. I am a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), Elder Counsel, as well as the Memphis, Tennessee, and National Bar Associations.
Well, I’m on lots of boards and committees and I’m in several bar organizations, notably the Tennessee Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association, the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations, and the Tennessee Lawyer’s Association for Women. One of my dreams is to start a non-profit family center.

What I do now is practice law for families and children in family courts in Tennessee and Mississippi. What I do now is provide solutions to your family when you need them the most, and provide support at a time when it is crucial. What I do now is a job that I love and am grateful to have.
